Isaiah 60

Isaiah 60
C60 is Israel’s millennial destiny. As we see Israel increasingly isolated/marginalized in today’s world, it is important to keep God’s word about Israel in front of us.
Prophetic chart/God’s promises to Israel - Jeremiah 31:35-37/ Replacement Theology: the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. Adherents of replacement theology believe the Jews are no longer God’s chosen people, and God does not have specific future plans for the nation of Israel.
1-3 ‘To rise upon’ = to touch. God: “I will touch your life w/ My glory.”
Zech. 12:10 – 13:1 describe God rising upon Israel at the end of the tribulation. Christ will come to them as Christ has come to us. The sun that will rise on them is Christ and the sun that has risen on us is Christ.
For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? Romans 11:24
As Jeremiah/Zechariah/Paul demonstrate – God is not done w/ Israel.
Arise – God comes 2u when ur down. UR bowed over/beat down by the world/flesh/devil/purifying judgment of God. The time to lie prostrate has come to an end. Why – what happened? Have they grown holier? No. Their light has come! God says to you, “Arise”. Why? Because His light has come to you.
Shine – God comes 2u when ur in darkness. The light of God’s glory has touched you and therefore you can shine. Gideon – God rose upon him and he rose and shone.
Moses’ face shone, but it was a fading glory. Walking in the light is to be renewed day by day. The moon shines w/ the reflected light of the sun when there are no barriers blocking the light. The moon has no light apart from the light of the sun.
1 – the Lord has risen upon you/2 – the Lord will rise upon you/3 – you will rise. The Lord has risen on you and you will rise on others. Your light will touch others as God’s light has touched you. What’s promised to/experienced by Israel in the M has begun in the church now.
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14, 16
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world”, and when the church is taken out of the world, the whole world will be plunged into a darkness unparalleled in history. SMITH
The last 3½ years of the tribulation will be the darkest in human history. But then the Lord will arise on Israel.
4 The reconciliation of Israel to God results in a family reunion!
5-6 Israel/nations are reconciled. What road maps/peace initiatives have failed to accomplish is brought to pass here. The glory of God will be seen in Israel.
7 The Arab nations reconciled!
Examples of the nations that will bring those riches are: Midian, south of the Dead Sea/ Ephah, a branch of the Midianites as Midian was Ephah’s father (Gen. 25:4; 1 Chron. 1:33)/Sheba, probably the Sabeans in southwest Arabia/Kedar in northern Arabia/ Nebaioth, apparently an Arabian tribe (Nebaioth was Ishmael’s eldest son, Gen. 25:13)/ Tarshish (probably in southwestern Spain)
8-11 The wealth of nations pours n2 renewed Israel. God has so much to give that their gates r2b open at all times.
12-17 Israel restored to God’s original intention
There will be no excuse for any to reject Israel for the Lord will make the place of His feet glorious – v13. The ark of the covenant is the footstool of the Lord for He is enthroned above it.
There will be repentance among the nations that persecuted Israel.
18 No more missile attacks!
20-22 Israel secure in the Lord
