In vv1-11 Isaiah spoke to Israel of a great reversal that was to come in their national existence – from calamity to comfort/ruin to redemption/corruption to cleansing/brokenness to wholeness. The Bab. captivity would be over/temple rebuilt/Jerusalem inhabited. God would bring Israel to the place where they were in love w/ God/consumed by the majesty of God. V9 Here is your God! Reversal in their circumstances and in their hearts.

1 Merodach-Baladan, king of Babylon, was mounting a resistance to the Assyrian Empire. He has been attempting to form an alliance w/ other nations to throw off the Assyrian yoke. MB had sent messengers to congratulate Hezekiah on his recovery, but there was more to it than that/reconnaissance mission/attempt to recruit him to the alliance being formed. But 2C32:31 tells us that there is more than a political angle to this story – there’s a spiritual one - God’s test of Hezekiah’s heart.

1. Sugar - by cutting off sugar you cut off one important food supply to the cancer cells.
2. Milk causes the body to produce mucus. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk, cancer cells are being starved. Substitute milk w/ unsweetened soya milk.
3. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic. Meat protein is difficult to digest. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

1 Here’s the problem: Judah is in a day of trouble (advancing threat of Assyrian Empire) and in a day of trouble you look for someone/thing that can be a strength to you. When you need money you look for someone who has money/love/counsel. But in looking for protection against the enemy, Judah allowed her fear to drive the agenda.
